Featured Industrial Security Project
Replacing obsolete security infrastructure while maintaining continuous protection and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
In Line Electronics was engaged to modernise the electronic security infrastructure at a Melbourne manufacturing facility operated by a major global industrial manufacturer.
The existing alarm system had reached the end of its practical service life, while the site lacked integrated access control. This limited management's ability to control, monitor and record movement throughout the premises.
We designed and delivered a new commercial alarm system with upgraded field equipment, integrated access control and electronic locking across external entrances, internal doors and secure operational areas.
The existing system contained more than 120 occupied alarm zones that needed to remain protected throughout the upgrade. At the same time, access control had to be introduced across numerous internal and external doors using electronic locks, electric strikes and modified door hardware.
To avoid disrupting manufacturing operations, the project was carefully staged so the existing and new security systems could operate together during the migration. This maintained continuous protection without requiring a shutdown of the facility.
Key Project Requirement
The project was carefully staged day by day and system by system. The existing alarm infrastructure remained active while sections of the new platform were installed, tested and progressively commissioned.
For a period of the project, the original and replacement systems operated together. This ensured alarm protection remained in place and doors could continue to be securely locked, unlocked and managed throughout the transition.
This staged migration allowed manufacturing operations to continue without a complete site shutdown, avoiding unnecessary production delays, lost time and business disruption.
In Line Electronics delivered a modern integrated security platform combining commercial alarm protection, access control, electronic locking and centralised management software.
Obsolete alarm equipment was progressively replaced while maintaining protection across more than 120 occupied zones. Access control was introduced to external entrances, internal doors and secure operational areas using electronic locks and electric strikes.
Management software was configured to provide improved control over users, permissions, authorised access times and event records.
The completed upgrade delivered a modern alarm and integrated access control platform with significantly improved management capability across the facility.
Management now has greater control over users, permissions, access schedules and security events, while electronic locking provides stronger protection for external entrances, internal areas and secure operational spaces.
The project was successfully completed without disrupting day-to-day manufacturing operations.
